Cooking from home is a great past time and can even make for a fun get together with your best friends. It also has several benefits for you! In today's blog post we will discuss the biggest benefits of cooking from home.

1. You will save SO much money.

Cooking from home eliminates your food delivery needs! When you cook from home all you have to worry about purchasing is your ingredients. When you get food delivered you have the added tipping charge and delivery fees. According to Forbes it is almost five times more expensive to order delivery from a restaurant than it is to cook from home. Forbes also stated "When you factor in a delivery cost, your price per meal can easily exceed $20 per person (and sometimes even more than $30 per person!)." By simply planning meals and grocery shopping you can save hundreds of dollars a year.

2. Cooking from home is healthier for you.

When you cook from home you know exactly what is going into your meals. When you order food you don't know how it is prepared and it typically has a lot more calories. According to Harvard Health Publishing "The more you cook, the healthier you live. People who frequently cook dinner at home consume fewer calories than those who cook less.."

3. Cooking at home makes us happy!

Whether you cook alone or you invite your friends over to cook with you, it brings joy to a home. After cooking a meal and sharing it with some friends, cooking can bring you a sense of accomplishment. An article from MindFood stated "A study in theInternational Journal of Humanities and Social Sciencelooked at the therapeutic qualities of cooking as a hobby, including its reported ability to cause a dimmed sense of time and an altered sense of consciousness. The researchers found that the act of cooking improves a person’s wellbeing and is associated with life satisfaction. Additionally, they discovered that cooking was the best predictor of subjective happiness." Next time you cook, invite some friends and make some memories!
